After bringing in my chocolate Oreo truffles (which I so happily refer to as Alec Baldwin‘s Schweaty Balls) to work, I’ve been challenged to stuff an Oreo into a cookie. I thought about this for a bit, pulled out my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe, and decided to give it a go.
Impossible? I think not. Healthy? Who’s looking? Delish?
Absolutely. These treats my just earn you a raise.
1 cup sweet cream butter (2 sticks), room temperature
3/4 cup white sugar
3/4 cup light dark brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract (only REAL vanilla, you crazies!)
2 1/4 cups white unbleached flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 bag of chocolate chips (semi-sweet, white chocolate, milk — whatever you like)
1 sleeve of Oreo cookies.
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Mix together the butter, sugars, eggs, and vanilla, until smooth. Add the sifted dry ingredients, and chocolate chips. Chill finished dough for 15 minutes, then start molding around the oreos and place on a slipat lined baking sheet.
(Tip: Leave PLENTY of room in between cookies when placing them on the baking sheet — they will spread.)
Cook for approx. 8 – 10 minutes, until the tops begin to brown. Remove and let cool. They will look uncooked around the Oreos, but will finish cooking while cooling.
Pour preferred dipping liquid, and enjoy!
